hope_healing @ 07:51 am: please pray for me...
To all members of this community and not ... I need your prayers. I am sorry that I have disappeared from my ministry journal as well as this community for so long. I had a few months when I first got saved and baptised when my life was beautiful. I was happy, confident, and loved life. Then for whatever reason my eating disorder went into full force and robbed me of my health, livelihood, and joy. Now it has been months later and I still don't have that joy that I once had. Since my disappearance, I have been in the er twice for dehydration, inpatient once, and in a day program at the hospital for eating disorders three times. While in the er I was on IV's both times being rehydrated. I almost lost my son due to being too sick to care for him. All of August he spent in foster care while I was getting treatment. Then in November when I went back into hospital program he went into a strange daycare which was really hard on him. Now my therapist and I both agree that at this point I would benefit from residential but if I have to go away I will be gone from my son for two months as the residential program is eight weeks long. They said they could work with visitations but that isn't the same as having him home with me. I have seen some improvement but not enough.. the eating disorder is still there. I want it to go away. I want to be the strong confident person I once was. I want to be able to share the joy I have in the Lord with others. I want to have my relationship with God restored to what it used to be. One reason I haven't been able to update with devotionals and other things is that when the eating disorder took over my life it also disrupted that close connection I had with God. I know He is there for me, I know He loves me, and I know I am His child - but apart from that I feel so far away from Him. It has been way too long feeling estranged from Him and I know the culprit is this eating disorder. Please pray that I find deliverance somehow from this so I can go on with my life and be who God wants me to be. As long as this thing seeks to destroy me and take everything I hold dear away it will interfere with my relationship with God and make it difficult if not impossible to tell others about Him like I want to do. I need your help and the way you can give it is through prayer. I believe in prayer and I should have asked you a long time ago. Things have gotten way out of hand. I have a journal just for my ed thoughts, one for general and parenting, but this one I made for ministry related material has been abandoned. I wish I could have things back the way they once were. In fact I know that has to be a possibility. I am still His child even if I feel so far away from Him right now .. please pray that the closeness I had with God, the joy I had in Him, and the healing I need from this eating disorder be restored. I want to be used by Him and as long as this thing seeks to destroy me and cause me so much heartache it gets in the way of this. I thank you in advance for your continued support and prayers. Hopefully sooner than later I can get the ministry journal I started back up the way I would like to. May God bless you always.

sunshinesmile17 @ 06:09 am: Happy Monday!
Prayer of the Day: Last December, under the Racial and Religious Tolerance Act, two pastors, Daniel Scot and Danny Nalliah, were convicted for "inciting hatred" against Muslims. Now Robin Fletcher, a self-described witch, incarcerated for sexually abusing two teenage girls, has called for a ban on the Alpha course, an internationally known introductory course to Christianity. He claims it promotes hatred against witches and "constitutes a personal danger to my health and safety within the prison system." The ban on the Alpha course will be considered by the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal.

Pray God will give the members of the tribunal the ability to discern the difference between righteousness and evil. Pray Christians in Australia will be zealous in their love for Jesus and bold in proclaiming and demonstrating that love. Pray the Holy Spirit will move in power to subdue the enemy at work in Fletcher's spirit and bring him to repentance and the joy of salvation.

Ezekiel 11:19,20: "I will give them an undivided heart and put a new spirit in them; I will remove from them their heart of stone and give them a heart of flesh. Then they will follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws. They will be my people, and I will be their God."

Meditation:
"The Messiah's Triumph and Kingdom

Why do the nations conspire
and the peoples plot in vain?

The kings of the earth take their stand
and the rulers gather together
against the LORD
and against his Anointed One.

"Let us break their chains," they say,
"and throw off their fetters."

The One enthroned in heaven laughs;
the Lord scoffs at them.

Then he rebukes them in his anger
and terrifies them in his wrath, saying,

"I have installed my King
on Zion, my holy hill."

I will proclaim the decree of the LORD :
He said to me, "You are my Son;
today I have become your Father.

Ask of me,
and I will make the nations your inheritance,
the ends of the earth your possession."

Psalm 2:1-8

sunshinesmile17 @ 04:07 am: God causes all things to work together for good.
Prayer of the Day: The World Evangelical Alliance (WEA) and the Becket Fund for Religious Liberty, in a joint statement to the United Nations Commission on Human Rights, expressed "deep concern" about the proposed anti-conversion law in a country that "unfairly targets the country's small Christian minority." Sri Lankan Christians have been the subject of over 160 incidents of violence and intimidation during the last two years, including church bombings, physical assaults and desecrations. Protestant Christians are only 1 percent of the population, while Buddhists number 80 percent. The government defends its law by saying that it is needed to protect religious freedom, but the WEA statement notes that laws protecting religious freedom should protect religious minorities, not discriminate against minority groups in favor of majority religions.

Pray God will prevent the passage of this anti-conversion bill. Pray Christians in Sri Lanka will have His heart toward their Buddhist neighbors. Pray the light of Christ's love will overcome the spiritual darkness in Sri Lanka.

John 10:27-29: "My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one can snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father's hand."

Romans 8:28,29: "And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.

For those whom He foreknew, He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son, so that He would be the firstborn among many brethren."

sunshinesmile17 @ 04:28 am: Happy Thursday!
Prayer of the Day: The family of Jokran Ratu, a Pentecostal pastor on the remote island of Buru, still does not know whether he is dead or alive. He was abducted in early December and has not been seen since. No ransom demand has been received, and police have not apprehended the kidnappers. Meanwhile, there is still high tension between Christians and Muslims in Ambon, the provincial capital of the Malukus. Violence between Muslims and Christians in the Malukus first erupted in January 1999, partly as the result of a government resettlement policy. The Malukus were previously a majority Christian region, but huge numbers of Muslim settlers changed the ratio and led to bitter land disputes and thousands of deaths.

Pray God will soften the hearts of Jokran Ratu's abductors, allowing him to return to his family. Pray the Lord will protect the Christians in Ambon from further violence. Pray He will send dreams and visions to many Indonesian Muslims, showing them the reality of Jesus' love for them.

2 Timothy 1:9: "Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began."

We have not become sinners because we have sinned...
we sin because we *are* sinners...

sunshinesmile17 @ 12:36 am: The just shall live by faith.
Prayer of the Day: Sixteen pastors are among nearly 900 Christians known to be jailed in prisons and military camps in this tiny African nation. Only a handful of prisoners has been released—after signing a pledge to stop attending religious services. Meanwhile, the director of the Eritrean President's office told Agence France Press on April 5th that arrested members of the banned Christian groups "are maybe held for five hours and then let off with a warning." Eleven Protestant churches, including the Seventh Day Adventist Church, have applied for official registration since they were forcibly closed down three years ago. Despite an Eritrean official's assurance to the U.N. Commission on Human Rights that his government would soon grant official status to the Adventists, nothing has changed.

Pray God will give each prisoner a special sense of His presence with them as they stand firm in their faith. Pray the families of the prisoners will be comforted by the Man of sorrows who understands their grief (Isaiah 53:3). Pray God will reveal the truth concerning Eritrea's cruel imprisonment of Christians and bring the authorities to repentance.

Romans 1:16-17: For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek. For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, 'The just shall live by faith.'"

sunshinesmile17 @ 06:32 am: Meditation
The Humbled and Exalted Christ

"Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus, who, although He existed in the form of God, did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied Himself, taking the form of a bond-servant, and being made in the likeness of men. Being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.

For this reason also, God highly exalted Him, and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus EVERY KNEE WILL BOW, of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and that every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father."

sunshinesmile17 @ 02:04 am: Give thanks to the Father.
Prayer of the Day: At an appeal court hearing on April 12th, the prison sentences of Pastor Nguyen Hong Quang and evangelist Pham Ngoc Thach were upheld. Quang and Thach, convicted of the crime of "resisting officers of the law while doing their duty," were sentenced to three-year and two-year terms, respectively, on November 12, 2004. While the appeal hearing was in progress, various police units and security forces dressed in riot gear and carrying billy clubs surrounded the courthouse compound. At the same time, a group of 200 Christians—Mennonite leaders, Christians of Vietnam's ethnic minorities, leaders from the Vietnam Evangelical Fellowship of house churches and four Catholic activists—held a prayer vigil. On April 11th, Mrs. Quang was summoned to the police station and scolded for writing and circulating an urgent appeal to Christians everywhere to fast and pray for justice to be done for her husband and the other Mennonite prisoners.

Pray God will give Quang and Thach great peace and many opportunities to spread the Good News of salvation. Pray many prisoners will see the love of Jesus in Quang and Thach and desire to know their Savior and His love. Pray God will move in power to block any more attempts by authorities to halt Christian activities in Vietnam.

Colossians 1:12,21,22: "Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:

And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled in the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight."

sunshinesmile17 @ 12:14 am: I can do all things through Christ.
Prayer of the Day: According to a Vatican spokesman, four priests of the underground Catholic Church have been arrested this year. Thomas Zhao Kexium, 75, was detained by security forces as he was returning from a funeral. The reasons for his arrest and his present location are unknown. Bishop Philip Peter Zahao Zhendong, 85, was arrested January 3rd and is still detained. National security forces arrested Bishop James Lin Xili, 86, on March 20th. Two days later, Gao Xinyou, worker in the pastoral care of the laity, was also arrested.

Pray God will bring His peace to these prisoners. Pray for their health, as most are old and frail. Pray their assurance of faith will lead many prisoners to faith in Jesus Christ.

Ephesians 2:10: "For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do."

Phil 4:13: "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."

sunshinesmile17 @ 02:30 am: It's a beautiful day!
Prayer of the Day: An Amman court of Islamic law has ruled in favor of Christian widow Siham Qandah, revoking the legal guardianship of her children's Muslim uncle, Abdullah al-Muhtadi, and ordering him to repay misspent funds. Al-Muhtadi proved unable to provide the court with documented evidence of his claimed expenditure to buy the children a refrigerator. The seven-year custody battle may continue, as the former guardian has the right to appeal the judgment within 30 days. Once they turn 18, the children (now 16 and 15) will be allowed to choose whether their official identity will be Muslim or Christian.

Give thanks and praise to God that He has loosed the chains of injustice for Qandah and her children. Pray she will not have to fight this legal battle again. Pray the Lord will bring more religious freedom to the country of Jordan.

I have a special verse for deepbluesea04 today... I'm so happy that you have Christ in your life, He will only make things even more wonderful for you, sweety!!

Ephesians 2:13,18: "But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near through the blood of Christ. For through him we both have access to the Father by one Spirit."

I love you all and each of you are in my prayers!!!

sunshinesmile17 @ 03:05 am: Evil men understand not judgment.
Prayer of the Day: A new draft religion law and other legal changes that significantly restrict Christians are likely to be considered at a session of the lower house of parliament. According to Forum 18 News Service, religious minority leaders and human rights activists have expressed fears over plans to require all religious communities to register before they can function and to ban missionary activity by both foreigners and local citizens unless it is licensed. In a March letter to the head of the parliamentary working group, Protestant churches in Almaty complained that the proposed new restrictions on religious activity violated the country's constitution and international commitments. Some see the hand of the National Security Committee secret police (KNB), the former KGB, in this tightening of state control over religious activity.

Pray God will intervene to thwart the plans of those who want to destroy Christianity in Kazakhstan. Pray God will embolden Kazak believers to continue faithfully no matter what governmental restrictions might be imposed on their activities. Pray they will show their Muslim neighbors the love of Jesus at all times.

Proverbs 28:5,6: "Evil men understand not judgment: but they that seek the LORD understand all things. Better is the poor that walketh in his uprightness, than he that is perverse in his ways, though he be rich."

2 Corinthians 4:6: "For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ."
